Luverne Rehabilitation receives $500 donation
Luverne Health and Rehabilitation received a donation Friday morning.
Pastor Willie White and Debra Parks presented a $500 check to Luverne Health employees to spend as they see fit. With this donation, White and the Digital Disciples have donated a total of $3,500 in the last six months.
White started a journey of walking in the park and working out at the gym a year ago. During this journey, White let the Lord use him to minister to people he met. He began using Facebook to do short devotionals as he worked out.
Once COVID-19 began to shut everything down, White moved his devotionals to late night. Social media became the only way to communicate for many during quarantine due to school, business, and church closures. White credits God for giving him the vision to do three late-night devotionals through Facebook. Many people from all walks of life and religious denominations tune in to hear White speak.
“The Lord gave Pastor White a vision to give to others during the pandemic, so we formed the Digital Disciples,” said Parks. “We started in October giving from our pockets and each month we would give $500 from the collection to some entity.”
Parks chose Luverne Rehabilitation for this month’s donation. Being a former employee there for 19 years, she knew firsthand the money would go to good use.
White is a pastor at John Chapel A.M.E Church. His live streaming devotionals can be seen on Facebook.
