CCA Sixth Grade Student Wins The Friendliest City Festival T-Shirt Design Contest

By staff reports

On the last Saturday of October, the City of Luverne held its inaugural Friendliest City Festival.

The day of fun at Douglass Park was filled with live music, food trucks, vendors, kids activities and even a petting zoo.

To go along with the excitement of the day, special T-shirts were made. These t-shirts were unique because the artwork featured on the front was designed by Luverne’s very own Loxley Lankford, a sixth grader at Crenshaw Christian Academy.

Loxley and several other sixth and seventh graders in Luverne submitted their artwork to the Crenshaw County Arts Council to be judged in a contest. As the winner, Loxley received 0 cash and her design on the front of the shirt. (Alprazolam)

Loxley’s mother, Natalie Lankford, a teacher at CCA and Loxley’s father, Bo Lankford, is extremely proud of her for winning the T-shirt design contest.

“Loxely loves to draw and create anything hands-on,” Mrs. Lankford said. “She also enjoys
playing volleyball, cheering, gymnastics, and dance.”

Loxley and Mrs. Lankford would like to thank Coach Sansom, Loxley’s homeroom teacher, for encouraging her and her classmates to participate in the
Contest.

“Coach Sansom is a remarkable and engaging teacher,” Mrs. Lankford expressed.

In total, over 40 t-shirts were sold at The Friendliest City Festival, and more are available through the Crenshaw County Arts Council. All proceeds from the shirts will benefit the Arts Council and its future endeavors.
