BHS celebrates homecoming, advances to playoffs

Brantley High School celebrated homecoming on Nov. 3 The theme was “Once Upon A Homecoming.” The Bulldogs brought home a big win over the Florala Wildcats in this area matchup with a score of 55-46.
Quarterback Jayden Parks completed 15 of 20 passes for 230 yards and four touchdowns, all of which were caught by Cooper Layton. In addition, Parks contributed 12 rushes for 195 yards and three touchdowns. Layton secured ten catches for 195 yards during the game.
This was the last home game for the Bulldogs before playoffs begin Thursday after a three-game winning streak. Both Brantley (6-4) and Florala (7-3) advanced to the class 1a playoffs.
Head coach Roland Jones Jr. said he and his team and staff are excited for what is to come as they prepare to travel to Linden Thursday for round one of the playoffs.
“We finally have everybody healthy and are playing good football at the right time,” Jones said. “Linden is very big so we hope to go fast on offense so they will get tired quick. We are playing with a lot of confidence right now and that is going to go a long way for us. I hope we play some good football and give a lot of effort and hopefully the score will be in our favor at the end of the game.”
