Missing Crenshaw County man found

A Crenshaw County man was reported missing on Thursday, July 22.

Jess Hartzell reported her fiancé, Rick Pyle, missing and filed a missing person report according to Hartzell’s social media account.

The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office also posted on social media asking for residents help in locating Pyle.

According to Investigator Marcus Laster of the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office, Pyle’s vehicle was found abandoned with several hundred dollars’ worth of tools still in side. The vehicle was towed by the Sheriff’s Office.

Pyle reappeared on Tuesday morning, scraped up and dehydrated, Laster said. “It appears he was crawling through the woods for the last four days,” Laster said.

Pyle was able to make it out of the woods and to a home where he was given a ride back to his home. According to reports, Pyle was checked out by EMT and was in good condition other than dehydration and cuts and scrapes.
