Pet of the Week-Peaches

Published 6:42 pm Thursday, May 19, 2022

“My sisters gave me the name Peaches Olivia and my mom just had to hyphenate my last name, so I am Peaches Olivia Chandler-Everette. Mom saw on Facebook that I was needing a new home and she immediately fell in love with me. I mean, what’s not to love? I even let my humans sleep in my king size bed with me every night even though I would prefer the whole bed to myself! Mom named me Peaches because my beautiful blonde and white hair made her think of peaches and cream, but I think my Mom is a little jealous. She spends all day sweeping and picking up the hair I have shed. I guess she is saving it to make herself a wig. I have finally gotten the family very well trained, and it wasn’t easy! They tried like 30 different kinds of dog food before they finally accepted the fact that I only eat cat food, my chew sticks, and my morning bacon that Nanny makes for me. My chicken wrapped chews are to die for! However, once the chicken is gone they are useless. Mom says that I am wasting money, but I don’t understand what she means.”

Peaches turned one year old on March 3, 2022 and is a Chihuahua mix. Her mother is Laura Chandler Everette of Brantley. Chandler said that Peaches is an inside dog that doesn’t really like cuddles, or anything else for that matter other than cat food, bacon, and chew sticks. Peaches does enjoy playing with her sisters but she has severe anxiety that sometimes has to be treated with medication.
