Vehicle Stolen from Red Rock

On December 20, 2021, a vehicle was reported stolen from the Red Rock gas station in Luverne to the Luverne Police Department.

Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Brantley Police Department responded offer assistance to the LPD according to the CCSO.

Officers quickly discovered that a known suspect had stolen a white Dodge RAM that was parked behind the gas station. The agencies issued a BOLO for the stolen vehicle.

A citizen recognized the vehicle and began following it while on the phone with 911. The vehicle traveled on South Glenwood Road towards Brantley, but was unable to keep sight of the truck.

Deputy Strickland spotted the vehicle at the Inland in Brantley and was able to safely and successfully conduct a traffic stop according to the CCSO.

The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office, Brantley Police Department, Luverne Police Department, and agents from Alabama Game and Fish responded to the Inland to assist.

The suspect was identified as David King Jr, has been charged by Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office with Theft of Property first for the stolen Dodge Ram as well as an additional Theft of Property first charge by the Luverne Police Department.
