The 41st annual first-grade play will be held in the Luverne High School auditorium on April 18 at 6:00 p.m. This year’s play is ” Once Upon a Lily Pad.”
The first grade play is an event sponsored by the Dee Turner PTA. It is presented in honor and memory of Elaine McDougald Goodwin, a life-long educator and member of the Luverne family. After Goodwin lost her battle with cancer, the PTA created a scholarship in her name.
The scholarship is awarded to a deserving member of the senior class at Luverne School each year, with a total value of $2,000. To fund this scholarship, the PTA teamed up with first grade teachers and started the annual first-grade play.
Preparation for this event began early in the school year and students are now eager to share their play with the public.
Advanced tickets will be on sale Monday, April 15 from 3-5 in front of the school’s elementary office and can also be purchased at the door on April 18. The doors will open at 5 p.m..
Please make plans to join the cast and crew of this year’s first-grade play as they show how each person is special if they let their own light shine.
