4-H students take state wins

On May 30, 4-H students traveled to Auburn where they competed in categories at the State 4-H Horse Judging and Hippology competition. 

For overall teams, Crenshaw County received third place in Junior Horse Judging and second place in Senior Horse Judging. With Hippology, Crenshaw County received second place for Team Problem and first place for High Point Team Overall in the junior category, and first place in both Team Problem and High Point Team Overall in the senior category. 

Scoring for individual 4-H members were follows:

* Temply Jones earned second-place individual reasons, third place individual overall and sixth place individual placings in Junior Horse Judging and first place in examination, placings, judging and individual high point for Junior Hippology.

* Sara Denardo won third-place individual placing and seventh place individual overall in Junior Horse Judging; eighth place examination, 10th place in stations, third place judging and ninth place individual high point in Junior Hippology

* Mckenna Tindel took home second place stations, fifth place examination and second place individual high point in Junior Hippology.

* Georgia Lynn Lowe earned fifth place individual reasons and individual placings and third place individual overall in Senior Horse Judging; eighth place in examination, seventh place in stations, fifth place in judging and sixth place in individual high point for Senior Hippology. 

* Anna Foster took home 10th place individual reasons, fourth place individual placings and ninth place individual overall in Senior Horse Judging; second place in examination, third place in stations, second place in judging and individual high point for Senior Hippology. 

* Trilby Jones won first place examination, stations and high point, third place judging in Senior Hippology.

After this competition, students will choose whether or not to attend 4-H Southern Regionals in Perry, Georgia to compete in Hippology or Horse Judging.
