The Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association (AHSADCA) has selected the 10 individuals who have been selected to receive the 2024-25 Coaches’ Children Scholarship. Among them is a Brantley High School sports standout and 2025 graduate.

All-star student-athlete Jayden Parks, the son of coach Andre Parks, received a scholarship awarded to graduating seniors and children of AHSADCA member coaches or administrators.

The association’s Director James T. Lawrence made the announcement Wednesday, June 4.

The 10 graduating seniors will be recognized at the 2025 AHSAA Championship Coaches Banquet at the Montgomery Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, Thursday, July 24. The banquet is held annually during the AHSAA All-Star Sports Week and Summer Conference.

“Our coaches and administrators do so much for students in their schools, and the coaches’ families sacrifice so much,” said Lawrence. “This is a way for us to show our gratitude. We are very proud of this program – which helps their children pursue their goals.”

The scholarship program was started in 2008 under the direction of then AHSADCA Director Steve Bailey. This year will be the 18th year of the scholarship presentation. With this year’s honorees, a total of 180 students have been recipients of a $1,000 scholarship – bringing the total distributed during that time span to $180,000.

One senior from each of the AHSAA’s eight districts and two at-large recipients are selected annually from the nominations submitted to the AHSADCA. The districts with two recipients this year are District I and District 5.
