Dallas Frank Wyatt, 91, of Foley, was called home to be with the Lord on May 22. A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and faithful servant of Christ, Dallas leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity and unwavering faith.
Born in Brantley, on March 4, 1934, to Robert and Lillie Mae Little Wyatt, Dallas was the eldest of four children. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert Morris Wyatt and Thomas Wyatt and his beloved wife of 69 years, Edna Earl Wyatt. He is survived by his sister, Libby Wyatt Chandler of Brantley.
Dallas graduated from Brantley High School in 1951, where he met his high school sweetheart, Edna Earl Strickland. The two began a courtship, and Dallas traveled to Mobile to seek employment that could support a family. He secured a job with Sears and Roebuck and returned to Brantley to wed Edna Earl. They married on Nov. 15, 1952, and began their life together.
They lived in Mobile for over a decade, during which time Edna welcomed their first child, Wanda, followed by two sons, Douglas and Edward. Eventually, Dallas moved his family to Foley and began working with his Uncle Glen Everage performing electrical and heating and air conditioning work. Dallas quickly learned the trades and went on to start his own successful heating and air conditioning business. He and Edna Earl completed their family with the birth of their daughter, Tammy.
A dedicated member of the Foley Church of Christ, Dallas served faithfully as an elder and spiritual leader for many years. His life was a reflection of his deep commitment to Christ, his family and serving others. He was known for his kind heart infectious smile and the playful jokes he shared with those he loved.
Dallas was also an avid gardener, often found tending to his fruits and vegetables, which he joyfully shared with neighbors and friends. A lover of music, he took great joy in creating and gifting CDs of his favorite gospel quartets, bluegrass and country music.
Above all, Dallas will be remembered for his generous spirit, steadfast faith, and the deep love he had for his family and community. He is now joyfully reunited with Edna, his partner in life and faith.
Dallas is survived by his four children: Wanda Ann Wyatt Olsen (Carl), Douglas Andrew Wyatt (Vicky), Lumon Edward Wyatt (Sandy) and Tammy Wyatt Acreman (Mark); eight grandchildren: Amy, Amanda, Kimberly (Dmitriy), Dustin (Peaches), Dallas (Kendra), O’Neal, Logan and Lillie; and nine great-grandchildren: Alexander, Odin, Dallas “Wyatt,” Zoya, Anastasiya, Nicolai, Grey, Gatlin and Laluna.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
