The Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on SR-106 in Butler and Crenshaw counties starts Wednesday, June 18, weather permitting.

The project will stretch for about 12.5 miles on SR-106, from McKenzie Grade Road to after the Patsaliga Creek Bridge. It includes resurfacing, shoulder widening, guardrail maintenance and installation, and roadway traffic markings.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and be mindful around workers and equipment.

The $4.5 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed early Spring 2026.
