This week’s Pet of the Week is Oreo, a 10-year-old yorkie owned by Elizabeth Smith in Luverne. 

Oreo has been with her owner Smith since she was only two weeks old and is now very attached to her according to Smith.

“Oreo is my trip-taking, talking-to best friend,” Smith said. “[When adopting Oreo I] always have felt like I was in the right place at the right time.” 

Around the house, Oreo loves to tote her small monkey toy around with her. Additionally, she loves to play fetch with her owner, and Smith said she tosses Oreo’s fish toy and the dog fetches it right back, setting it down gently at her feet. 

Oreo is a very healthy pup and is attached to her owner. Smith said that whenever she comes home, Oreo gets excited and spins around. 

While her diet might not be considered picky eating, Oreo will only let Smith feed her when it comes to mealtime.

When out of the house, Oreo loves to ride in her stroller. Whenever Smith puts clothes on her – like the striped onesie she loves to wear – Oreo knows that she is about to go somewhere.

After a long day out and about the town in her stroller and outfits, Oreo likes to wind down and get some rest. Most of the time, Oreo tucks into bed alongside her owner – and always with her small toy monkey – to get ready for a whole new day filled with fun-filled trips and games.
