Rayburn pleads guilty to truancy offense

‎In an order issued Wednesday, May 7, Carey Rayburn pleaded guilty to the charge of contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a minor for the underlying offense of truancy.

Crenshaw County District Judge Jon Folmar issued the Guilty Plea Order Wednesday morning and said the child’s name is withheld due to their age.

“The defendant was sentenced to six months in the Crenshaw County Jail, split to serve two days with the balance suspended for two years unsupervised probation,” Folmar wrote in the order.

She will serve the 48=hour period beginning Friday, May 16 at 5 p.m. through Sunday, May 18 at 5 p.m. As a condition of probation, Carey was ordered to obey all laws and ensure the child attends school each day they are required to do so.
