Can it be that time again?

An Editorial Opinion of The Luverne Journal

As the calendar shifts from April to May, we find ourselves experiencing “that” time again. What time approaches? Graduation. The uptick of temperatures heralds not only the dog days of summer, but the first pages of a new chapter for young men and women transitioning from high school to careers, college and the opportunities entering their horizon.

It seems like a mere few days since The Luverne Journal prepared a graduation special to celebrate Crenshaw County graduates. Now our newsroom staff is gearing up for another graduation publication and we are wondering how the time could have passed so quickly.

Recalling the days and months spanning the 2024-2025 school year, parents, school faculty, community members and the Journal newsroom staff look back at student achievements, athletic victories and all kinds of student-life events. The month of May brings with it award ceremonies, college commitments and, ultimately, graduation.

Once again, we are honored to walk alongside students and their families in these moments. Reviewing the fresh face embodied in every graduation portrait reminds us of the milestones each student achieved and all the promise that lays before them.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share life’s precious moments and for all the men and women who poured themselves into the men and women preparing to embark on their life’s next journey.
