The Luverne Journal recently held its annual Easter Coloring Contest as a way to celebrate Easter and highlight local Crenshaw County elementary-school artists. The competition was held among children from all over Crenshaw County in grade categories K-4 through first grade, second through fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade. 

This year’s winners included Emma Grace Abadilla who is in first grade, Allyssa Carr who is in fourth grade and Emaleigh Williams who is fifth grade. Each student attends Brantley School. Luverne McDonald’s, owned by Murphy Family Restaurants, sponsored this year’s coloring contest and each winner will receive a party for their classroom.
