Brantley hamster named Pet of the Week

This week’s Pet of the Week is Hammy the Hamster, an orange and white hamster from Brantley.

Hammy lives with her owner, Alyssa Carr and enjoys playing, eating and stuffing her mouth full of food.

“She is really good at stuffing her mouth full of food and storing it in her tunnels,” Carr said. “She also loves when it is play time.”

During play time, one of Hammy’s favorite things to do is play hide and seek. She loves to run around in her ball all over the house. Additionally, Rose, the kitten of the house, plays with Hammy while she’s in the ball and will roll her around.

On top of play time, Hammy has one trick up her sleeve.

“She knows when you call her name it’s time to eat,” Carr said.

Hammy is in good health with no health issues. She is also not a picky eater, and her favorite treat is cheese.

At the end of the day, Hammy tucks into her pink bunny snuggly. There, she sleeps until the next day, hopefully filled with more fun, play and cheese for Hammy to “squirrel” away.
