During the Crenshaw County Public Schools’ March 17 meeting, the school board recognized two basketball teams — the Brantley boys Highland Home girls — and their coaches for athletic excellence and participation in their respective championships tournaments. The Lady Squadron from Highland advanced to the Final Four playoff round. The Brantley boys’ basketball team earned the Alabama High School Athletic Association state runners-up title after competing for the state championship against R.C Hatch. The school board commended both team for their history-making efforts.
