Organizers for the inaugural Stars & Stripes Over the Lu celebration invite local student artists to enter a logo design contest for the event. The festive celebration is slated for July 4 at Turner Park, and co-hosts Lisa Oliver, administrator for the social media group Crenshaw Cares and Mike Flint, owner of Flint’s Smokehouse, hope area artists will create a logo to represent the endeavor.

Logo submission should consist of the name of the event, at a minimum, and will be used in advertising and on event t-shirts. The deadline for entries is April 13.

The winning entry receives a prize package valued at $50. Submissions must include the artist’s name, grade and school. To enter, email submissions to StarsAndStripesOverTheLu@Yahoo.com.
