Linda Faye Pouncey Tomlin, 75, a resident of Luverne, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Sunday, March 16. Funeral services for Linda were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, at Rock Hill Church of Christ with Brother David Livermore officiating. Interment followed in Rock Hill Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Linda was born in Goshen on Feb. 20, 1950 to Myra and Ralph Pouncey. She went on to find her dream job as a cosmetologist. There seriously wasn’t an occupation better suited to Linda’s personality because she was such a warm and inviting person with a gift of making everyone feel at home in her presence. It was a bonus that she just genuinely loved people so very much and cared about them whether they sat in her chair or if she met them while out and about. And it didn’t hurt that she also had a great gift for gab which not only put customers at ease, but they could also have a great time discussing any of the local news of interest. At home, she loved spending her free time either fishing, gardening, or fishing!! Her children couldn’t have asked for a more loving or selfless mother and the grandchildren who first called her “NaNa” were her world. If more people in this world had Linda’s innate grace, forgiveness, and love, it would be a far better place.
Linda was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob Sawyer, parents, Ralph and Myra Pouncey and brother, Gene Pouncey. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Larry Tomlin; children, Christopher Scott (Tammy) King, Tabbetha Yvonne King and Jessica (Donald) Schweiger; grandchildren, Josh (Desiree) Sawyer and Ovada and Vera Schweiger; great-grandchildren, Brantly and Brenton Sawyer; siblings, Ronnie Pouncey, Sue Hughes, Doris (Terry) Moody and Peggy (George) Tranum and a host of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Active pallbearers were Josh Sawyer, Bryan Pouncey, Kevin Tranum, Clint Tranum, Drew McGee and BJ Wolfe.
