People-friendly Atticus chosen Pet of the Week

This week’s Pet of the Week is Atticus, a 10-year-old dog who loves to meet new people as he visits around his hometown of Brantley.
Atticus, the Lab-Golden Retriever mix, lives with his owner Hunter Pugh, where he sleeps outside or snuggled up in the living room, depending on the weather.
“In the spring and summer, Atticus sleeps on the back covered porch,” Pugh said. “In the fall and winter, he comes inside and sleeps on his dog bed in the living room.”
When Atticus wakes up for the day, he loves to play fetch with his owner and friends.
Atticus isn’t a picky eater, and always loves his favorite treat: Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter Bones.
“Atticus is one of the most lovable and personable dogs you’ll meet,” Pugh said. “He loves to walk down the Main Street of Brantley and visit his friends – human and canine – along the way.
“He has never met a stranger, and I’ve watched people [who are] usually afraid of dogs embrace him because of his gentleness.”
People- (and pet-) friendly Atticus loves to take part when community events come around and does not like to be left out.
At the end of the day, Atticus settles back in his bed on the protected back porch, taking in the springtime and preparing for another day filled with friends.
