Pet of the Week – Vaida

Vaida is a one-year-old intelligent, friendly cat hailing from Luverne. She is a love bug for her owners and their two children, and has purred her way to Pet of the Week.
Vaida is owned by Brittany Bragg, a teacher with Highland Home School. Bragg said that Vaida was given to the family by a friend and has warmed the hearts of her family ever since.
“Vaida is an all-around love bug, and a great companion and listening ear,” Bragg said. “If I’m ever feeling lonely or just not myself, she will just sit with me and it really does make me feel better. She’s just all around the best.”
Vaida’s intelligence shows through her ability to communicate to her owners, as Bragg notes that she will follow her family, meowing and pawing at the water bowls or the fridge for a refill.
The feline is kid friendly, as plays with her two human brothers.
“She will even play hide and seek, which is the funniest thing to watch,” Bragg said. “My boys will run down the hall and hide, and she will sneak down the hall after them; they will jump out and run, and she will chase after them. They run and hide in a new spot and the fun starts all over.”
To add to the merriment, Vaida loves the sound of crackling paper and bounces off the walls and furniture when she hears the sound. Vaida also loves to be held, often going up to her owners and holding her arms out to be picked up.
Her favorite treat is turkey bacon, however she isn’t picky when it comes to food.
At the end of the day, after all the games and fun, Vaida goes over to the crate she has slept in since a kitten, and sleeps in her own bed.
