Meet Xena, the extraordinary pit bull who has earned the title of Luverne Veterinary Hospital’s Pet of the Week. Known for her unwavering loyalty and gentle nature, Xena is more than just a pet — she is a devoted protector, loving companion and a true member of her family.

Xena’s favorite thing to do is to cuddle with her human baby sister, Rayne. From the moment Rayne was born, Xena has never let the baby out of her sight. Acting as a guardian and best friend, she watches over the infant with a tenderness that would melt anyone’s heart.

Her owners describe her as “the most loving, good girl ever,” and their admiration for her runs deep. Xena’s connection with her family began long before Rayne’s birth.

Her owner, Ariel, credits Xena for being the first to sense her pregnancy. Throughout the entire journey of pregnancy, Xena stayed loyally by Ariel’s side, offering comfort and companionship.

When Rayne finally arrived, Xena naturally took on the role of protective big sister, ensuring the baby was always safe and sound.

Affectionately nicknamed “Nurse Xena,” she seems to have an incredible ability to detect when someone isn’t feeling well. Whether it’s a cold, stress, or simply a tough day, Xena is always right there, offering love and support. Her presence brings warmth and reassurance to her family, making her an irreplaceable part of their lives.

Xena is also a big cuddlebug. At the end of each day, Xena can be found snuggled up in bed with her family, enjoying the closeness and comfort she brings to those she loves. And tthe way to Xena’s heart is hotdogs. This lovable pup is a big fan of the classic snack, making it the perfect treat for such a deserving good girl.
