Community members joined the Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce Tuesday to officially welcome Brantley  Bank to the city of Luverne. The locally-owned financial institution established in 1946 marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting and grand-opening festivities Feb. 4 after launching services with a soft opening Jan. 6.

Brantley Bank President Travis Colquett welcomed guests and introduced several board members present, highlighting the bank’s rich history and commitment to Crenshaw County communities.

“We are you guys,” Colquett said. “We go to the ball field together, we go to church together and we are here for our county. That’s all we want to be is another option where Crenshaw County can benefit from our being here.

“We appreciate every one of our directors who have given us the leeway to make dreams come true and for our continued growth.”

Robert Owen, II, business development/loan officer, recalled his background in community banking and described the blessing he felt over the support he and others working toward the branch’s opening have received.

“God always has a way of working things out,” he said. “Coming into Brantley Bank and seeing the community aspect and the desire to build relationships is what I was used to. So, I look forward to doing that in Crenshaw County.”

During the come-and-go style event, the branch offered guests freshly-grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, Brantley Bank merchandise and the chance to sign up for door prizes purchased from local businesses.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony out front of the long-time bank building officially opened the branch for business.

With a wide array of financial services, Brantley Bank offers business and personal banking options — checking and savings accounts, loans, online banking, telephone banking, lobby/drive thru hours, ATM access and more.

The Luverne branch is located at 207 Forest Avenue. Other locations include Brantley, Ramer and Pike Road.
