Crenshaw County students choose alternate path to graduation

Four students from Crenshaw County recently graduated from Alabama Connections Academy at the Boutwell Auditorium. The 652-student class, who collectively earned $2,108,415 in scholarships, eagerly moved their tassels from right to left as family and friends cheered them on. 

Crenshaw County graduates include Emily Hollinghead, Najai Pruitt, McKenzie Sanders and Brianna Shifflett.

Alabama Connections Academy opened as a tuition-free online public school in Alabama in 2017 and has been helping K–12 students ignite their passions and find a path to success ever since. The academy, as part of the Limestone County School District, is state certified and open to all students living in Alabama.

The mission of Alabama Connections Academy is to partner with students and families, focusing on individual student success in a flexible learning environment. The school offers students in grades K–12 a safe, engaging environment where they can learn in the way that works best for them.
