Sam Tompkins, shortstop for the Huntingdon Hawks, was captured tagging a Maryville College player by retired newspaper man Tommy Wilson during the Hawks’ recent game in Maryville Tennessee. Tompkins is a Brantley native who graduated from Brantley School and studied at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College before transferring to Huntington College in Montgomery. He is a senior who has appeared in five games with the Hawks this season.
