Obituary – Gladys Rushing Chandler

Gladys Rushing Chandler, 100, a longtime resident of the Pine Level Community, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health and Rehabilitation on Sunday, March 3. Funeral services for Gladys will be held at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Johnson officiating She will then be laid to rest beside her husband in the Pine Level Community Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. 

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Comer Chandler; son, Durwood Chandler; and grandson, Kevin Ross. 

She is survived by her daughter, Ramona (Ronnie) Ross; daughter-in-law, Libby Chandler; grandchildren, Tony (Allyson) Chandler, Mike (Julie) Chandler, Lee Chandler (Jeff) Grosenbach, Amy Ross (Chris) McConnell, Jonathan Ross, and Jenny Ross; great-grandchildren, Zeb (Lacey) Chandler, Jacob Grosenbach, Grace Grosenbach, Lydia McConnell, and Rebekah McConnell; and great-great-grandchildren, Mason Chandler and River Chandler.

Active pallbearers are Tony Chandler, Mike Chandler, Jeff Grosenbach, Jacob Grosenbach, Zeb Chandler and Jonathan Ross. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 93 County Road 355, Elba 36323.
