Brantley strolls past Houston County in a two-game sweep

The Brantley Bulldogs hit the road Jan. 23 to face off against the Houston County Lions. The Bulldogs came into the matchup on a three-game winning streak and outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points.

The Bulldogs claimed victory over Houston County in a 67-37 win. The Lady Bulldogs also bagged a 61-15 win over the Lions.

It was another great night for Jayden Parks, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and seven assists. Parks hasn’t dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Daylan Davis also dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs have been performing well recently winning five of their last six games. The victories provided a nice boost to their 13-7 record this season. As for the Lions, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17. This moves the Bulldogs to 5-1 in region play, with their only loss being to the Florala Wildcats.

Head Coach Andre Parks is proud of his teams, and hopes to see an even better performance versus Florala this afternoon.

“I was very proud of the way both the boys and girls teams competed and played last night,” Parks said. “At this point in the season we are just striving for a better way in everything we do. We know our games versus Florala are set to be big games as always.”

Brantley and Florala will face off for the second time this season today during a home game with the first tipoff at 4:30. Florala and Brantley continue to battle it out for the No. 1 spot in 1A Area 2. Houston County will head out on the road to take on Geneva.
