The Christmas blues are real. Now that the tree is put away and the lights are down, the music and TV shows are off the air, families are at home, and the kids are now on the downhill side of the school year. Indeed, the Christmas blues are real.

As we all get back into the swing of things, it’s amazing how fast we can go from one end of the spectrum to the other. I have begun to think about Lent and Easter already.

I also admit I miss the Christmas season with the bright lights, decorations, and parties with family, friends, and coworkers. Everyone seemed to be happy and excited. Now, just a few weeks later, we have gone back to business as usual.

Isn’t it great that God is the same no matter what is happening in our lives… We can be just as excited about serving God on a boring Sunday morning in May as we can on a bright, cold winter day in December. We have no reason to sing the blues.

We can have peace no matter our circumstances, we can have hope when all is lost, and find love in times of hardships. Christmas will be here again before you know it, so until then, let’s give thanks and praise for all that God does throughout the entire year.
