Greenville Newspapers is proud to announce the addition of Amy Lewis to our team of dedicated journalists. A native of Alabama and a Greenville resident, Lewis brings with her a wealth of experience and a passion for community journalism.
“Amy comes to us from our Boone Newsmedia affiliate, The Selma Times-Journal,” said Regional Editor Lanell Smith. “She is a gifted writer who cares deeply about covering the news of our communities.
Born and raised in Huntsville, Lewis’s roots run deep in the heart of Alabama. She graduated from Faith Christian Academy before pursuing her higher education at Faulkner University. Lewis is a married mother of two young children, and when she’s not chasing stories, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and baking.
Lewis’s career in journalism has seen her cover a wide range of stories, from local events to hard-hitting news. Most recently, she worked as a journalist with the Selma Times-Journal, where she honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of the communities she served.
Now, Lewis is excited to bring her talents to Greenville Newspapers, Inc. where she will be covering the tri-county area of Butler, Lowndes, and Crenshaw counties.
“I’m thrilled for this new opportunity,” Lewis said. “Being able to cover stories that directly impact my community is a privilege. I’m looking forward to shedding light on events that matter to my friends and neighbors.”
In her new role, Lewis is eager to highlight the events and issues that matter most to the people of the tri-county area. Her dedication to fair and accurate reporting, combined with her passion for storytelling, make her a valuable addition to the Greenville Newspapers team.
“Amy is a joy to work with,” Smith said. “She proved herself invaluable to our Selma readers and we are excited to put her talents to work closer to home. Please join us in welcoming Amy as we continue to cover the people, places and happenings important to you, our valued readers.”
