It’s the time of the week again when Luverne Journal readers meet some of our community’s most charming and lovable pets. Koe, a charming and lovable four-month-old Goldendoodle, is this week’s Crenshaw Animal Clinic Pet of the Week. Koe resides in Luverne, sharing his home with his adoring owner, Breely Hayes, and the rest of the Hayes family.

This fluffy pup is already tipping the scales at close to 25 pounds, but it is not his ‘big ol’ teddy bear’ appearance that makes him special, it’s his loving and intelligent nature that truly sets him apart.

“Koe is the most caring little puppy I’ve ever seen,” Hayes said. “He’s incredibly smart and outgoing, and he loves playing outside and snuggling.”

Koe loves catching a ball in his mouth when it is thrown to him, and he has learned the commands of ‘sit’ and ‘lay down’.

For Hayes, her love for Goldendoodles began when her older sister adopted one into the family and Koe has since become a cherished member of the Hayes household. Among Koe’s favorite indulgences are Pumpkin softies, a treat made especially for dogs. His expressive personality includes being a little vocal when something doesn’t quite meet his approval.

This pup, who’s named after Breely’s favorite singer, Koe Wetzel, lives the life of an indoor dog and can be found every night snuggled up in bed with his human mom, providing warmth and comfort for a peaceful night’s sleep.
