Mommy and Me

The Luverne Public Library hosts a program for moms and young children each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The next meeting will be this Tuesday.

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System holds a horticulture webinar every Wednesday at 1 p.m. Following each webinar, participants can get answers to gardening questions. Register to get reminders and the Zoom link for these free webinars at https://www.aces.edu/go/asywebinars.

 

Spooky Bash

This event is for all ages and will be at Liv & Zoe Boutique Oct. 5 from 5-7:30 p.m. There will be cotton candy, face painting, costume contests, games, and more. 

 

Bingo Fundraiser

A Relay for Life fundraiser will be held Oct. 7 at the Crenshaw Co. Shrine Building from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Homemade cakes and other food items will be available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.

 

Pumpkin Painting

The Luverne Public Library will host a Pumpkin Painting on Oct. 7 from 9-11 a.m. Pumpkins and paints will be provided. Please bring any trim you need to complete your design. Pumpkins will be judged by library patrons and winners will be announced Friday, Oct. 29 th .

 

Family Day

Highland Home School will hold Family Day on Oct. 12. For more information contact the school. 

 

Drone Workshop

This workshop will be held Oct. 12 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Tom Harbin Ag Center. Live demonstrations will be held and dinner will be provided. Please call the Crenshaw County Extension office at 334-335-6312 to register.

 

Family Day

Brantley School will host Family Day on Oct. 13. For more information contact the school. 

 

Responder Breakfast

First responders are invited to a free breakfast and sharing time at First Baptist Church in Luverne, Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. All responders in Crenshaw County and surrounding areas – fire and rescue, law enforcement, dispatch, EMTs – are welcome to attend. 

 

Cookie Class

South Ridge Winery will host a cookie making class Oct. 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Dozier Church

Dr. Ben Alpert with Chosen People Ministries will be bringing a message from The Word on October 15 at 11a.m. at Dozier Baptist Church.

 

Night of Encouragement

The Alabama-Crenshaw WMU will host a night of encouragement and refreshing at New Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2764 New Ebenezer  Road, Lapine on Oct. 16 at 6:45 p.m. The event features guest speaker, Bible teacher Paige Hughes, author of Party with a Purpose. All are welcome.

 

Food Pantry

Eagle Eye Community Development Corporation will hold a mobile food pantry at the old Brantley National Guard Armory beginning at 8 a.m. 

 

Pajama Worship

The Ala-Crenshaw WMU will host a youth event, “Worship in Your Pajamas” for grades 7-12 on Oct. 18 at Joquin Baptist Church. Pancake dinner at 6 p.m., worship at 7 p.m. Wear pajamas and bring a pair to donate to Luverne Health and Rehab. Call Anna Reese at 430-1299 for information.

 

4-H

The Luverne Public Library will host 4-H on Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. 

 

Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Alabama Crenshaw Baptist Association will be held on Oct. 19 at Danielville Baptist Church. The meeting begins at 3:45 p.m. and will feature messages by pastors Jim Looney and Terry Long.

 

Kids Yoga

The Luverne Public Library will host kids yoga on Oct. 19 at 5:15 p.m. 

 

Holiday Market

Barns and Bins Wedding and Event Venue will host a holiday market on Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

 

Halloween Pet Costume Contest

Bring yourself and your pet dressed in costume to help support Animal Tails Rescue through this fundraiser that will be held Oct. 21 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Petsense in Troy. There is an entry fee of $6 and the winner will receive a prize and picture. 

 

Haunted Maze

Bassett Family Farms on Qual Tower Rd. will hold Raven’s Maze on Oct. 20-21, and 27-28 beginning at 7 p.m. each night. For more information email BassettFamilyFarms@gmail.com

 

Food Pantry

The Alabama-Crenshaw Baptist Association WMU hosts a monthly food giveaway on the third Saturday of each month beginning at 10 a.m. The next event will be held Oct. 21 at First Baptist Church in Luverne. Call (334) 335-6169 for more information.

The Luverne Public Library will host a craft day on Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.

The Luverne Public Library will host EGO Club on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m.

Pow Wow

Ma-Chis Lower Creek Indian Tribe of Alabama will host a Pow Wow Oct. 27 & Oct. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the Ma-Chis Tribal Grounds located at 2950 County Road 377 in Elba. 

 

Trunk or Treat

Festival at the Well Inc. will hold a trunk or treat and Halloween party Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m.

The Luverne Public Library will host movie day on Oct. 30 at 4 p.m.

The inaugural First Responders Trunk or Treat will take place Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Turner Park in Luverne.

This and That Antiques invites the whole family to come enjoy candy, cookies, and cupcakes  on Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. until. 

 

Trick or Treating

Trick or Treating in Brantley will be Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

 

Homecoming Dance

The Brantley High School Homecoming Dance will be held after the football game on Nov. 3 for grades 9-12 inside the BHS old gymnasium. 

 

Friendliest City Fest

The festival will have music, food trucks, kids area, arts and crafts vendors, and more. The event will be held at Douglass Park Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

 

Fall Festival/ Veterans Celebration 

This event, hosted by S. Prevett, will be held Nov. 11 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Downtown Dozier. There will be live music, food, kids activities, arts n crafts, car viewing, and veterans program. Fore more information call 334-508-2797. 

 

Christmas Market
