Be married at heart

Be married in your heart, not on paper! Marriage is a beautiful journey that goes far beyond a mere 50/50 arrangement. Imagine if you and your spouse were to take a test and both scored 50, you would have both failed. But let me tell you, my dear brothers and sisters, marriage is not about passing or failing. It’s about growing together, supporting each other, and cherishing the love you share.
As a minister, I am blessed to witness and celebrate weddings. But when I sit down with couples, we spend very little time talking about the ceremony itself. Instead, we focus on the days that follow, when the lights go out and everyone goes home. It’s during those moments that the true essence of marriage shines through.
Marriage is a gift from God, a sacred bond that should be treasured and nurtured. It’s about waking up every day and choosing to love your spouse, even on the most challenging days. It’s about being there for each other through thick and thin, celebrating the good days, and supporting each other during the bad ones.
So, my brothers and sisters, let us remember that our marriage is so much more than a mere sheet of paper or a gold ring. It’s a commitment to love, honor, and cherish one another. It’s a promise to be there for each other, no matter what life throws our way. May your hearts be forever intertwined, and may your love continue to grow stronger with each passing day.
