The Alabama Sports Writers Association released high school football rankings Sept. 27 with first-place votes, win-loss record and total poll points received. Two Crenshaw County Schools ranked among the top 10 teams in their class and two others received votes from the association.

Undefeated Highland Home School at 5-0 received 169 points in Class 2A to rank at No. 2. Head coach Will Pouncey said he appreciates the votes and the recognition for the hard work of the players.

“I’m definitely proud that we are seen in that light and thought of so highly,” Pouncey said. “But our work is nowhere near done. We definitely appreciate being recognized statewide for these boys’ hard work.”
