Crenshaw County law enforcement officials are investigating a death in the Magnolia Shores community. 

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Aug. 1, concerned residents in the area alerted local law enforcement of what appeared to be a deceased human body located in the lake. 

Crenshaw County Investigator Lt. Chris Stewart could only offer limited information on the case at this time.

“There was a drowning,” Stewart said. “It is still currently under investigation for cause of death, so that investigation will be ongoing until we get a report back from the medical examiner.”

No further information is available as law enforcement officials continue to investigate. This article will be updated as new information becomes available.
