Cockadoodledooo, my name is Snowball and I am a seven-month-old Silkie rooster. I was hatched in an incubator from an egg my family bought from Faulk Farms in Glenwood. I live in Heath with my family the Hawseys. My human sister Westly named me just as soon as I hatched because she said I looked just like a little, white snowball. When I am not trying to impress the ladies, getting loved on by my family, or enjoying my favorite treat, macaroni and cheese, I can be found scratching around in the yard and I love to eat scratch grain, crumble feed, and any leftovers that we get out here in the chicken yard.”

According to Snowball’s owner, Amber Harris Hawsey, he is a very sweet boy and is much more social than all her other roosters. Snowball gets along well with the other 70 or so chics on the Hawsey Farm. She said anytime Snowball sees any of his humans in the chicken yard, he comes running, ready to be picked up and petted. Hawsey said Snowball has the best personality and at only seven months old is one of the most beautiful roosters she has ever had. The Hawsey kids, Ollie and Westlyn, are huge helpers on the farm and assist with watering and feeding the animals and cleaning out the coops.
