 The 2023 valedictorian for Brantley High School is Anna Grace Hall, daughter of Randy and Lisa Hall. Accompanying her as the salutatorian is Faith Crawley, the daughter of Ryan and Elizabeth Crawley. 

According to senior sponsor Tracey Layton, both students are very deserving. 

“Anna Grace & Faith are very dedicated students,” Layton said. “These girls are also very involved in many campus activities. They have been great at managing their time in addition to being academically driven. They both have many traits that will benefit them in their next season of life. I will definitely miss Faith’s over analyzing & Anna Grace’s morning hugs but I know they will do big things.”

Hall’s educational journey at Brantley School began in kindergarten. She attended Brantley until third grade, returning in her junior year to complete her high school career. During her time at Brantley, Hall took on various leadership roles such as Key Club President and student council representative.

Hall’s dedication to her studies is evident through her membership in esteemed honors organizations such as Mu Alpha Theta, National Technical Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society. She consistently achieved academic excellence and graduated with a weighted grade point average (GPA) of 4.65.

Beyond academic achievements, Hall also actively participated in a wide range of extracurricular activities. She was an avid volleyball player from sixth through 12th grade and cheered during her senior year. Engaging in various organizations, Hall became a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National FFA Organization, Future Teachers of America, DECA, and Future Business Leaders of America. 

She served as the yearbook editor and represented Crenshaw County as a Chamber Ambassador. Hall’s involvement extended to her community, where she actively participates in the youth group of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her dedication and commitment were recognized when she was awarded the William Hiram McGhee Endowed Scholarship and the Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Scholarship.

With her sights set on the future, Hall plans to attend Auburn University in the fall and  major in rehabilitation and disabilities with the goal of becoming an occupational therapist. Her choice of career aligns with her passion for helping others.

Hall enjoys reading books in her free time and loves to go to the beach, where she can relax and soak up the sun. Fishing is one of her favorite hobbies and she greatly values time spent with family and friends. She is a dedicated Auburn fan and during football season loves spending her Saturdays in Auburn, cheering on the team. 

Crawley joined Brantley School in the eighth grade and quickly established herself as a leader. She held various positions of responsibility including Student Council President in 12th Grade, vice president in 11th Grade, and secretary in 10th Grade. She also served as the vice president of Key Club and secretary for the Peer Helpers Organization. Additionally, Crawley contributed to her community as a Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador. 

She cheered from ninth to 12th grade and participated in softball and volleyball during her freshman and sophomore years. Crawley’s leadership qualities were acknowledged through accolades such as the United Cheer Association All-American Award and the United Cheer Association Pin-It-Forward Leadership Award. She also served as the varsity cheer captain during her junior year.

Similar to Hall, Crawley demonstrated a commitment to community service and involvement. She was an active member of organizations like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National FFA Organization, HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and Future Business Leaders of America. Crawley’s dedication and academic excellence earned her memberships in Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She was awarded the Elenda Turner Math Award for the highest advanced math average over the last four years and the Woodmen of The World History Award for the highest history average over the same period.

Crawley’s future plans involve attending the University of Alabama, where she will major in political science with a minor in business on a pre-law track. Her fascination with law and her family’s legacy in the field influenced her decision to pursue this path. Crawley has been awarded the University of Alabama Prestige Scholars Scholarship and the Gloria T. Rayborn Scholarship, along with scholarships from the South Alabama Electric Cooperative and the Luverne Kiwanis Club. 

Crawley accumulated 15 college credit hours through dual enrollment with Lurleen B. Wallace while in high school, providing her with a head start in her academic journey. In her spare time she enjoys painting, reading, going to church, going to the movies, bowling and spending time with family.
