WoodmenLife chapters across the country are participating in “Giving Together,” a program focused on working together through community cleanup and beautification.

Brantley Chapter 930 recently donated a glider to Crenshaw Community Hospital.

According to David Lowery, field representative with WoodmenLife, the bench, and landscaping around it is a way for the organization to express its commitment to the community and he hopes it will serve as a place for employees, patients, and patient’s families to relax and take a breather.

“WoodmenLife members are committed to supporting our communities, public service workers, and local organizations,” Lowery said. “We are always looking for ways to give back and wanted to do something that could benefit everyone in the community. So, we decided on doing this project at the hospital.

“We found an area out front that we thought would be an inviting area and did some landscaping with plants and pine straw. We hope it is a welcoming and inviting spot for those that just need to take a minute to rest and recharge.”

The program focuses on community cleanup and beautification as well as involving others in the community with the annual project. Under the instruction of Cody Nichols, Crenshaw County students created the plaque that was placed near the glider. Career Academy also donated plants that they rooted last school year.
