Mrs. Angel Watson Schofield, 50, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Funeral services for Angel were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Penn officiating. Interment followed in Long Chapel Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.
Angel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who simply adored her family more than words could express. There were few things she loved more than spending time with them and with their extended circle of friends. She always found the greatest enjoyment in the simple things in life, from refurbishing a piece of old furniture to give it new life or a day spent on the beach watching the waves come crashing in. She did, however, take particular enjoyment in discussing her favorite football team, the Auburn Tigers, with anyone. Christmas was easily the best time of year as it allowed her to indulge in her love for shopping, especially for all of her loved ones. She truly believed happiness could be found in the small moments that made life so very special, and that is one of the things her loved ones will miss the most about her. Angel was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Schofield; father, Lloyd John Watson; and siblings, Harold Watson and Rebecca Watson. She is survived by her beloved children, Christi (Wayne) Smith, Josh (Valerie) Schofield, Jesse (Brandy) Schofield) Jr, and Tyler Schofield; grandchildren, Brianna Schofield, Clayton Holland, Andrew Smith, Connor Schofield, and Bentley Schofield; mother, Joan Byron Jones; siblings, Cindy Harrelson, Bonnie Bayman, Lloyd Watson, Anthony Watson, Steven Watson, and James Watson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Connor Schofield, Clayton Holland, Jason Arocho, Craig Wells, Roger Morris, and John Pierce.
