Crenshaw Christian Academy holds Senior Honors Day

Crenshaw Christian Academy (CCA) honored the graduating class of 2022 during an honors day program at the high school May 10. CCA Headmaster, Rebecca Baggett, opened the ceremony with a few words about the hard work the seniors put forth to earn the awards given out.

Kristie Garner, senior class sponsor, announced the awards and honors as Baggett presented them to the honorees.

 LifeSouth Community Blood Centers Red and Gray Cord of Courage- recognizes seniors who help save lives by donating blood and that have donated a minimum of 4 times: Laken Grace Bryan

Alabama Girls and Boys State-a premiere youth leadership program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, recognized by being presented with a blue and gold honor cord: Abby Lee Whiddon and Gage Dean Young. Young was also elected Governor during the 2022 program.

Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation is an organization whose mission is to inspire and develop a global community of youth and volunteers to lead a life dedicated to leadership, service. and innovation. This honor was recognized by being presented with a navy and gold honor cord: Alyssa Layne Billings and Baleigh Elizabeth Johnson

The National Society of High School Scholars- an invitation-only membership organization for students that have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher or an ACT score of 26 or higher. This organization is not an honor society through Crenshaw Christian Academy but one that these seniors joined outside of school.  Presented with an antique gold double cord were: Alyssa Layne Billings, Baleigh Elizabeth Johnson, Alaina Claire Killough, Vivian Grace Thomas, Abby Leigh Whiddon, and Anna Beth Whiddon.
