The Squadron point points on the board first with a Mako’s fumble recovered by JJ Faulk at the Squadron 0-yard line. Austin Norman makes the extra point kick.

With only seconds left in the first half, Cade Tidwell runs 10 yards for another Squadron touchdown, bringing the score to 21-7.

In the second half, with less than a minute left in the third, Diaz completes a pass to KD Shepherd for a 56-yard touchdown that had the Squadron fans showing their team pride. Norman makes the extra point.

“I’m extremely proud of our guys performance,” Head Coach Will Pouncey said. “We won this game with assignment football and making big plays.

I don’t want to point out any individual accomplishments from this game because it was a total team effort. The guys that made the big plays were prepared because of the scout team that practiced against them all week. Everybody on this team has a vital role. It was a great win for our football program and the Highland Home faithful supporters. I’m proud of how our team has dealt with adversity all year and overcame a 2-5 start, to now hosting a second round playoff game. It’s great to be a part of the Flying Squadron!”

The Flying Squadron (6-5) will take on the Elba Tigers (10-1) Friday night at home.
