Traffic stop leads to drug bust

Investigator Pitts and K9 Bella have been working hard to keep drugs off the streets and out of our community.

On July 15, 2021 around 7:55 p.m.  Narcotics Inv. Pitts and Reserve Deputy Watson conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Woodford Ave and Jeffcoat Street in Luverne Ala.

During the stop, K9 Bella was brought out and scented around the vehicle. Bella gave a positive alert to the officers, indicating there were narcotics in the vehicle.

During a vehicle search, Investigator Pitts was able to recover approximately 405.8 grams of high grade marijuana from the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Emmanuel Lamon Bogan, was arrested and charged for possession of marijuana first and possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Several bags of high grade marijuana, weighing approximately 4053.8 grams, were removed from a vehicle during a traffic stop on July 15.
