Mrs. Patsy Owens Morrell, 74, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery on Monday, July 5, 2021. Funeral services for Mrs. Morrell were held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 7th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Clay Crum officiating. Interment followed in County Line Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Morrell spent much of her life working as a seamstress in a textile factory. She was well-suited to her career given how much she loved to sew; she even collected numerous different sewing machines over the years. It was through her sewing and quilting that she was able to express her creative side. She also owned a ceramics shop once upon a time, and taught several classes out of it. Additionally, she was a fabulous cook and loved listening to country music. In her free time at home, she could often be found catching up with friends and family on the phone or working on the family genealogy, usually with her beloved canine companion, Buddy, by her side. More than anything, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who could always be counted on to attend any of her grandchildren’s numerous events no matter how far she had to travel. She was one of a kind and a special part of her family who will be deeply missed by all of those she leaves behind.
Mrs. Morrell was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Morrell; granddaughter, Kristin Fuller; and parents, William Herman & Lillian Mildred Acreman Owens. She is survived by two children, Sharon (Jamie) Fuller and Shelton (Nickie) Morrell; six grandchildren, Torrie (Chad) Free, Savannah (Chase) Haws, Shelly Mitchell, Auburn Morrell, Justin (Lindsey) Fuller, and Jared Fuller; three great-grandchildren, Coston Free, Mary Haws, and Evelyn Mitchell; and a special cousin, Christina Acreman.

Active pallbearers were Justin Fuller, Jared Fuller, Chase Haws, Chad Free, Josh Hinton, Trey Dillon, Joe Smith, and Will Moses.
