A high speed chase involved several departs Tuesday night.

According to Brantley’s Assistant Police Chief Drew Morgan, a young black female was speeding and refused to pull over when Elba Police Department tried to initiate a stop. The driver traveling at a high rate of speed, at times over 100 mph, traveled through Elba to Brantley. Once in Brantley, Morgan joined the pursuit. The driver did a U-turn outside of Brantley and traveled back through Brantley. She was stopped in Opp when spike strips were deployed.

The cause of the chase is unknown at this time. This story will be updated as information is made available.
